Visiting Pilots

Medical Examiner

Pilots must possess the required psycho motor skills to be legal pilots.  If you can not pass at least a FAA 3rd class medical exam (the 3rd class medical doubles as a student permit) you will not be allowed to solo the airplane which means you will not get a license.  Only an approved FAA medical examiner can determine this and issue the FAA medical certificate.  Be sure you are fit enough prior to initiating all the paperwork or relocating to Hawaii.

Dr. Rourke is the FAA medical examiner authorized to conduct flight physicals.  He works at the Hawaii Flight Academy- Iolani Air office building Kona Airport every other Saturday. To schedule a medical exam call our office 808-331-8308 and provide your name, age, class of physical needed, if you are a student or not and whether or not you need an EKG.
No walk-ins please. You must call ahead as Dr. Rourke is in high demand.
